Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder Review

Monday 31 March 2014

For such a long time, I've been hearing about the Fresh & Flawless pressed powder  by Australis.  It seems to be one of those staples in every beauty blogger  / vlogger / youtuber's makeup collection.  So, when my Rimmel Stay Matte powder ran out, I decided to give this one a go.

I absolutely love this powder!  It is so inexpensive, but it does exactly what you want a pressed powder to do - it sets foundation and concealer perfectly, and it leaves your skin with a flawless, smooth and matte finish.

Fresh & Flawless is known for being a great 'dupe' for the MAC Studio Fix powders.  I think it's a pretty fair comparison, and for a fraction of the price, it's no wonder so many Australian beauty guru's are using it.  Most people in other parts of the world don't realise just how expensive makeup is here in Australia - a MAC Studio Fix powder here is $49.00au, whereas the Australis Fresh & Flawless is only $11.40au - so the difference is really significant!

I love this product and will absolutely be repurchasing it over and over!

Australis products are readily available at department stores, pharmacies and Priceline stores in Australia.

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask Review

Wednesday 5 March 2014

One of the beautiful products I was lucky enough to be given at the Lush Blogger Event  in December, was the beautiful Fresh Cupcake Face Mask.

We were able to take part in a small workshop and see how the mask is made and what is put into it, which was really lovely and interesting.

The mask itself smells so delicious - kind of like chocolate cake mix, and because it's made with such fresh ingredients, it needs to be kept in the fridge and doesn't have a very long shelf life.  However, as with any of Lush's fresh products, once used up you can take the empty container back to the store and the lovely staff will refill it for you.

The Rhassoul mud cleans and soothes the skin, while other ingredients such as linseed, cocoa butter and cocoa powder, work to leave your skin lovely and soft.  Peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils are also included and definitely add to the beautiful smell.

The mask is applied pretty much like any other - apply to clean and dry skin, avoiding the eye area and leave for five to ten minutes before rinsing off.

I really enjoyed the Cupcake mask, and I found it left my skin feeling really nice, fresh and soft.  I did find it to be quite messy as far as masks go - lots of little bits of chocolate falling all over the place.  But with a product like this, that is to be expected.

Overall, I really liked this mask and would use it again.  The Cupcake Fresh Face Mask retails for $16.95 and can be purchased at any Lush store, or online at www.lush.com.au
